Current Limitations & Ongoing Improvements
1. Complex Interactive Components
Certain advanced tools—such as the IPA mobile keyboard, interactive TTS displays, and dynamic catalog filters—are semantically structured but still undergoing extended assistive-technology testing.
We are improving:
- Focus management
- Screen-reader announcements
- Keyboard shortcuts and operability
2. Color Contrast Testing
Our design tokens are built with contrast in mind, but we are running systematic verification of:
- Buttons and chips
- Focus outlines
- Badges and status indicators
Across both light and dark themes to ensure consistent WCAG 1.4.3 and 1.4.11 compliance.
3. Error Summaries
Inline error messages are available, but we are adding optional error summaries and ARIA alert cues for complex forms to improve clarity for screen-reader users.
4. Right-to-Left (RTL) Language Support
The current interface supports only left-to-right language layouts. Future versions of SongBase will explore expanded RTL interface support as we introduce more global tools.
